Ms. Jacqueline Williams
The Halifax County School Board of Education has named Ms. Jacqueline Williams as the inaugural Principal of Halifax County Early College on Monday, April 1, 2019. Ms. Williams has 17 years of experience in various educational roles. She has served Halifax County Schools as language arts and social studies teacher, a middle and high school assistant principal, middle school principal and currently principal of Pittman Elementary Leadership Academy. Ms. Williams was named the Halifax County Schools Principal of the Year for the 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 school years. Additionally, Ms. Williams serves as an ABE/HSE Reading and Writing Instructor for Nash Community College.
Ms. Williams earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from University North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Masters in School Administration from University of Phoenix. Ms. Williams has one daughter, Jahquaya Silver, age 20. Outside of serving as an educator and mother, Jackie likes to shop, read, and spend time with her family.
Ms. Williams states, “I am dedicated to the students and families of the Halifax County School District and I am excited to serve as the inaugural Principal of Halifax Early College High School”. Ms. Williams will be welcoming interested students and families in the Early College High School program at an open house on April 15, 2019 at 6 pm at Halifax Community College. Ms. Williams will continue to serve as principal of Pittman Leadership Academy for the rest of the 2018-2019 school year as well as lead the planning efforts for the opening of the Halifax Early College High School in August of 2019.
