Mrs. Heather Forte
Hello!
My name is Heather Forte! I am the English Teacher at Halifax County Early College! I have been a teacher for about eight years now. I truly love teaching and working with students. I went to high school and college in the state of Pennsylvania, graduating with a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English. I returned to school for my Master's degree a few years later. I have taught all grades at the secondary level, 6-12, including some GED Prep courses. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching here at HCEC the last two years and I look forward to another great year with our scholars.
My husband and I live in Roanoke Rapids and we have two daughters, one who will be three in November, and the second who was just born in July. During the past school year, my daughter would often accompany me to games and loved cheering on her Spartan Family.
Covid has been a great teacher, we have learned so much as a school, as a district and individually. I look forward to helping our students continue their education and continue learning remotely until it is safe to continue in-person classes. While we are returning to in-person classes now, there will still be remote learning needed at different points. I hope to make things transition as easily as possible between the two as needed. I look forward to meeting all of my new students and seeing the familiar faces of my returning students. If I can help in any way to ease the transition please let me know!
