CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Career Technical Education (CTE) in Halifax County Schools is a comprehensive program serving students in Grades 6-12. The mission of the CTE program is to prepare students to be world class workers and citizens in our global economy. Upon high school graduation and the completion of a CTE sequence of courses, students may choose to enter the workforce, to enroll in a community college or enroll in a 4-year university.
Programs in CTE are developed to respond to the needs of the economy. To assist in responding to the needs, CTE programs partner with community leaders and organizations through advisory groups that provide support in planning, implementing and evaluating programs. The curriculum in each course is competency based and provides instruction in the skills and knowledge needed for students to achieve success in their chosen Career Pathway.
February 2019 is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. You can click here to visit the Association for Career and Technical Education's website (ACTE ONLINE).
CTE Month® is an annual event held in February to celebrate CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. CTE Month 2018, with its theme of "Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow" will give us the chance to tell the stories of leadership and excellence from our community and raise awareness of the crucial role that CTE has in readying our students for careers and our nation for economic success.
Visit our CTE Facebook and Twitter pages under Social Media to see pictures of all of the CTE activities held at all of our schools during CTE Month.
