Athletic Hall of Fame

The Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates the outstanding athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have helped shape the proud athletic tradition of our school district. These honorees represent excellence, dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

Through their achievements, they have brought pride to their schools, inspired future generations, and left a lasting legacy in our community. As we recognize their accomplishments, we also celebrate the power of athletics to build character, strengthen school spirit, and unite our community.

Nomination & Selection Process

Nominations are open to former athletes and coaches who meet the established eligibility requirements.

  • Athlete Category
    • Nominees must have graduated from high school and are eligible for consideration at least 10 years after their graduation date.
  • Coach Category
    • Nominees must have served as a coach within Halifax County Schools for a minimum of 5 years.

Priority Inductee Timeframe: 1980–2000
For this induction cycle, priority consideration will be given to eligible nominees whose athletic participation or coaching service occurred during this period.

To nominate an individual, complete the official Hall of Fame nomination application and provide as much supporting information as possible regarding the nominee's accomplishments, honors, records, leadership, and contributions to Halifax County Schools athletics.

Selection Process

Following the nomination deadline:

  1. Eligibility Review – All nominations will be reviewed to confirm that the nominee meets the established eligibility requirements.
  2. Committee Review – Eligible nominations will be presented to the Hall of Fame Committee for consideration.
  3. Evaluation – The committee will consider the nominee's athletic or coaching accomplishments, honors, impact, leadership, and contributions to the legacy of Halifax County Schools athletics.
  4. Selection – The committee will determine the individuals selected for induction based on the established criteria and available supporting information.
  5. Notification – Individuals selected for induction, or their families when appropriate, will be contacted prior to the public announcement.

Nomination Deadline: October 1, 2026

Submission of a nomination does not guarantee selection. Eligible nominees who are not selected may be considered in future Hall of Fame induction cycles.
