Hello, my name is Skip de Lyon, and I am the music teacher for Inborden Elementary S.T.E.A.M. Academy. I graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2007 (Go Eagles!). I have been teaching and playing music ever since.

This is my sixth year teaching at Inborden, where I also chair the S.T.E.A.M. Committee. I have directed several school plays, including The Wizard of Oz, and Cinderella. I play guitar, harmonica, piano, concertina, and balalaika; and I have recorded a solo album outside of school. In addition to music, I also help with tutoring our scholars in math.

The past couple of years have been very difficult because of this global pandemic, and many new challenges have definitely arisen through this grim situation, but I am glad to see our scholars in person once again. In my classes, I do not expect anyone to be perfect, but I expect everyone to make an effort.
