Mr. S. Pannela EC Teacher
WELCOME BACK TO THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
Greetings! My name is S.Pannela. I have been teaching the Exceptional children program for the past 10 years at Northwest Collegiate and Technical Academy. I have been in this profession for the last 18 years. A love of learning is the ultimate gift a teacher can give his students. I strive to be a loyal friend and mentor to my students and their families. My colleagues, former students, and parents say that my greatest contribution to education is my passion for inspiring my students to have fun, learn, and always do their best. As a classroom teacher, my greatest contributions and accomplishments are directly related to the success of my students. I have always strived to be a reflective practitioner and lifelong learner. I look forward to my time here at NCTA and getting to know and work with students and parents here and hope to make a real difference.
Philosophy of Teaching:
My teaching philosophy is very simple, “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”. Every child is unique, exceptional, and individual, so everybody learning is different. Being an Exceptional Children’s teacher, I have to make plans according to their individual education plans in order to meet their academic and social, and personal needs. In my classroom, I want students to have the freedom that allows for expression and creativity. Students should be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and realize their strengths and weaknesses. After this basis is developed, the curriculum can be molded to tie in each student’s learning style. My personal goal for my future classroom is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential. I want to take students to different levels and see them develop together for the betterment of each individual. My greatest goal is to move students with special needs into inclusive and inclusive regular education programs.
