Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Stepheny Hine
Brevard College, but I bleed tarheel blue. I love reading, writing, cooking and baking, watching movies, hiking, biking, and playing with my dog, Scarlet.
Sesquipedalian is my favorite vocabulary game to play because the kids get so invested in it! I also have a really fun crack the code EOG review and Grudge ball game.
I love to read. I always have been a good reader. Most kids dread reading because they haven't discovered the joy yet. I love awakening that in them.
I think genetics and the science of blood is so interesting. I hope to pair up with Ms. Booth when she gets there and do a unit.
There are so many engaging education platforms out there, quizziz, kahoot, quizlet.live, front row, dojo just to name a few. I love using them in my classroom to engage learners.
I have always been a big believer in the project based learning model. When students engage in critical thinking with their peers to discover a concept they learn so much more than when I stand up there and "teach" it to them.
Math is everywhere. I used to not enjoy it because I thought it was pointless, but as I have gotten older, I have realized the real value in it. For those whole struggle, keep persisting, I promise you won't regret it.
