HCS Recognizes EC Teacher of the Year

Halifax County Schools is proud to announce that Mr. William Morris, an adaptive teacher at Enfield Middle S.T.E.M. Academy, has been named the district’s Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher of the Year for 2024. With 14 years of dedicated service to Halifax County Schools, Mr. Morris has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, commitment, and compassion in his work with students with mild to moderate disabilities.

 

As the recipient of the EC Teacher of the Year award, Mr. Morris is being celebrated for his tireless dedication to the success of his students and his unwavering commitment to making a difference in their lives. His recognition underscores the profound impact that exceptional educators have on students with disabilities, and his influence extends beyond his classroom to inspire others throughout the district.

 

Superintendent, Dr. Eric Cunningham commended Mr. Morris, stating, “Mr. Morris’s passion for teaching and his unwavering commitment to students with disabilities set him apart as a leader in our district. His dedication to his students with exceptional needs is a reflection of his deep care and belief in the potential of every child.”

 

Director of Exceptional Children, Sharon Richardson stated, "His passion for teaching and his collaborative spirit set the standard for excellence in our district. It is an honor to award him the Exceptional Children Teacher of the Year award, recognizing not only his exceptional teaching but also his profound impact on the lives of his students.”
