Halifax County School Virtual Lighthouse Academy

The Virtual Lighthouse Academy is designed to serve students who face extenuating circumstances, such as medical issues or long-term suspension, by providing them with an online learning environment. This ensures that students can continue their education despite challenges that may prevent them from attending traditional in-person classes.

City Cruise Field Trip
|
This field trip offers students the chance to connect their social studies lessons with a real-world experience of the U.S. government in action. They will visit the Navy's Atlantic Fleet, where they will learn about the history of the ports, ships, submarines, cargo planes, shipyards, and historical landmarks, all through an engaging narrative.

Hard to Staff Stipends
|
Starting April 1, 2025, a $5,000 sign-on bonus will be offered to newly hired school counselors, social workers, Exceptional Children’s teachers, and school nurses. Additionally, a retention bonus will be provided to those in these positions who were hired during the 2024-2025 school year and are returning to the district.

Both middle and high school students were given the opportunity to immerse themselves through a series of hands-on challenges and engaging competitions. Throughout the day, students were encouraged to explore the significance of Pi in real-world applications.
