Halifax County Schools students returned to class Monday following the winter break, despite inclement weather conditions that led to a two-hour delay. Snow and icy roads across the region prompted the delay, but the excitement and determination among students, staff, and families remained high as the new semester kicked off.
"While weather conditions posed challenges, we are thrilled to welcome our students back after a well-deserved winter break," said Dr. Eric Cunningham, Superintendent. "The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority, and we appreciate the flexibility and patience shown by our entire community as we navigated the delay."
Halifax County Schools will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the winter months to ensure that learning continues uninterrupted. In the event of further adverse weather, the district is prepared to adjust schedules and make accommodations for students and families.
