• Mission Statement

    The mission of the Halifax County School's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive approach to meeting the needs of students through early identification, prevention, intervention, counseling, and support to assure academic success, educational equity, and social justice for every student.

     

    Vision Statement

    The vision of the Halifax County Schools Comprehensive School Counseling Program is for all students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through twelve (12) to have quality learning experiences exemplified by academic success, positive social and personal connections, and career/college readiness skills that will prepare them to compete in a 21st-century global economy.

    Program Goals of Student Services

    Goal 1 (Behavior):  Classroom discipline referrals for students in grades Pk-12 will be reduced by 5% when comparing discipline referral data collected in August and May of each school year.

    Goal 2 (Academic): The number of students performing at proficiency or higher will increase by 10% from August to June of the previous year as measured by local and state assessment results.

    Goal3 (Attendance):  Each school will maintain an 85% attendance rate per month as evidenced by monthly school attendance reports during the previous school year.

    Goal 4 (Parental Involvement): Each school will increase positive parental involvement opportunities by 15% during the 2020-21 school year.
