• K-12 Core Curriculum

    Overview

Halifax County Schools is "charting a new course to student achievement".  This means that beyond offering students a sound basic education, the district is also offering innovative earn-while-you-learn opportunities that impact college and career readiness, and acclimation to local and global service industries. Instructional materials constitute all materials, whether print, non-print, digital, or any combination thereof, used in the instructional program. Instructional materials are divided into two categories: textbooks and supplementary materials.

The district has purchased grades K-12 core curriculum for each of the following areas: reading, math, science, and social studies.  All instructional materials were approved, inventoried, and distributed to schools with the use of a district review of curriculum, inventory, and distribution protocol.  Halifax County Schools' procedures for the selection of textbooks are in accordance with the limitations established by state law and regulation and according to any standards established by the state board.
